Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) and Chairman of the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC), Tanko Muhammad, has restored Beuolisa Nwofor’s Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) title.

In a correspondence he personally issued, the CJN said the decision was taken after due consideration by the LPPC.

The letter to Nwofor read: “After deliberation, the committee upon being satisfied that the condition for restoration has been met and in the exercise of the power vested on it by the provision of Paragraph 27 of 2018 guidelines for conferment of the rank of SAN and all other matters resolve to restore the use of the rank in your favour with immediate effect.”

Muhammad warned the senior lawyer that the committee would not hesitate to withdraw the title again if he abuses privileges in the future.

The memo stated: “The committee has further directed you to be informed that any future act or conduct on your part that runs foul of the provision of professional conduct may attract stiff sanctions.”
