Cleric blames insurgency on hard drugs influence


Over 70 per cent of Boko Haram insurgents and other criminals operate under the influence of hard drugs, Executive Secretary, Nigeria Union of Northern Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Pastor Istifanus Isaya, has said.

Isaya, who stated this during a procession in Kaduna at the weekend, said that the church therefore decided to take up the campaign against drug abuse because there is increase in the abuse of hard drug the country on daily basis.

According to him, “the church decide to pick it because the trend of event as we see it now is increasing on a daily basis, and so we cannot leave it for government alone to do it,” he said.
