The Iya Aladura General and founder, The New Seraph, Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye, has urged the church to prioritise youth empowerment and unity, describing young people as the future of both the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church and Nigeria.
She made the call in Lagos after receiving an award at the C&S Centenary Celebration Award and Gala Night, held in Lagos. The award recognised her contributions to the church’s growth and stability, as well as her philanthropic initiatives.
“The youths are very important to us. The youths are the future of our church and the future of Nigeria. I would only encourage our youths to be steadfast in the way of the Lord and in their various sectors where they belong so that they can excel. Our students should focus more on their education. The church must invest more in them and their unity activities,” she added.
Yomi-Sholoye also reflected on the church’s development, noting that although it was once widely linked with miracles, it has now become firmly grounded in evangelism and the teaching of the Word of God.
“In this current dispensation, the C&S is big time into the Word of God. Today, we are very thorough and detailed in evangelism, while also adding value to our youths more than ever before,” she said.
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, congratulated the church on its 100-year journey, describing it as a vital partner in nation-building. He praised its social contributions, including support for orphanages, borehole projects, health missions, and youth empowerment programmes.
