Cleric urges women to participate, resist attempt to compromise 2023 polls
Nigerian women have been urged to participate actively in the forthcoming 2023 general elections and resist any attempt that would compromise the polls.
The women were also charged to vote beyond sentiments and party lines, as well as play crucial roles that would ensure that only credible candidates are elected.
Rev. Fr. Christian Egwuekwe, Parish Priest, Archangel’s Catholic Church, Umuebie-Ugiri, in Isiala Mbano Council of Imo State, gave the charge at the 2022 Women August Meeting, organised by Guinness Nigeria Plc at the weekend.
The cleric, who reiterated the importance of women in nation building, urged them to constantly put the country in their prayers “so that God will intervene and salvage the country from her current socio-economic and political woes by giving us good leaders in 2023.”
