COAS hails retired personnel’s patriotism

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Faruk Yahaya has commended the patriotic contributions of retired officers of the Nigerian Army.

At the valedictory buffet in honour of discharged soldiers, who served with 3 Division Area of Responsibility, in Jos, Plateau State, on Tuesday, Yahaya lauded their remarkable achievements while in service, assuring them that the Army would ever remain grateful for their services.

The COAS was represented by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos, Maj-Gen. Ibrahim Ali, who doubles as Commander, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Jos.

He thanked the retired personnel and informed them that their expertise would be needed as the army battles to end insecurity in Nigeria.

“There are ongoing efforts to engage the services of the retired professionals with experience. These experiences are necessary towards tackling all forms of insecurity in our nation,” Yahaya said.
