Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ini Ememobong, has extolled Governor Udom Emmanuel high on consistent human capacity development among civil servants in the state.

Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ini Ememobong, has extolled Governor Udom Emmanuel high on consistent human capacity development among civil servants in the state.

This is contained in a statement sent to The Guardian by the Public Relations Director of the ministry, Mrs Grace Akpan.

The statement said Ememobong gave the commendation to the governor during the reception for the ministry trained recently at the London School of Public Relations (LSPR).

The commissioner noted that the oversea training wouldn’t have been made possible without the support of the governor.

“I am a servant and my duty is to interpret the desires of His Excellency. You are the beneficiaries of the governor’s drive for a better workforce,” Ememobong said.

The Information helmsman also commended the officials for conducting themselves well during their stay in the LSPR.

“You were very good ambassadors. As a graduate of the school, I had a very good commendation from the LSPR authority about your contingent,” he said, stressing that “learning helps to keep the heart and mind straight. And more knowledge humbles.” He promised to undertake personalised training for all staff members, pre-retirement training and upfront payment of school fees for those undergoing PhD And Masters’s degree programmes at the University of Uyo before leaving the ministry as commissioner.

On his part, the team leader and Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Akparawa James Edet, said that going to LSPR was like a dream, then it became a vision and later turned into the mission that has been accomplished. Akparawa Edet affirmed that today, the “UK ambassadors” were proud recipients of a Diploma in the foremost school of media studies and Public Relations in the world, the London School of Public Relations.

In her vote of thanks, the Dean, of the College of Directors who is also the Director of Information, Mrs Blessing Urua, thanked God for making things better than they were in the ministry through the help of Ememobong. The ministry has sponsored training in the Chinese language, sign language, and leadership in Dubai, ASCON and APCON. Mrs Urua thanked Governor Emmanuel and Ememobong for adding another feather to the caps of the UK trainees.
