Consumption of cooking gas hits 78,000 metric tonnes
Approximately 78,000 metric tonnes of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (popularly called cooking gas) are consumed in the country, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) has disclosed.
Its Executive Secretary, Abdulkadir Saidu, who disclosed this yesterday in Abuja, attributed the growing consumption to the continued efforts of government, industry operators and regulators in deepening the product penetration.
He added that while domestic utilisation ranged between 40,000 and 54,000 metric tonnes from January to April 2018, the figure for July this year alone was 78,000 million metric tones, adding that better results could be obtained in the coming months.
