Council boss harps on importance of hand-washing, hygiene
The Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Council in Ogun State, Ladejobi Shuaib, has said that hand-washing with soap and clean water remains the best way to prevent infectious diseases, especially in this period of COVID-19 pandemic.
Shuaib, who gave the advice, yesterday, when he visited some primary schools within the council to teach the children proper ways of washing hands for their safety and others, urged corporate organisations within the vicinity to partner with the council to spread good hygiene messages and provide resources for teachers to promote good hygiene in school environment.
He said that most people washed their hands with water but very few washed with soap after using the toilet. Also, President, Rotary Club, Ijebu Ode District 9110, Dr. Ezima Esther, tasked teachers to ensure that school children wash their hands with soap and water regularly to prevent illness.
