An Ikeja Special Offences Court has granted bail in the sum of N20 million to social media personality, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, over an alleged N69.15 million property fraud.

Trial judge, Justice Rahman Oshodi, admitted the defendant to bail with two responsible sureties in like sum.

  Oshodi held that although the prosecution did not oppose the bail application, the court was obliged to consider the gravity of the alleged offences and the severity of the punishment prescribed by law before exercising its discretion.

  The court also took into account the defence’s explanation regarding the whereabouts of the defendant’s international passport.

  As part of the bail conditions, the judge directed that each surety must provide a three-year bank statement or proof of fixed deposits valued at N20 million. He further ordered that the defendant and her sureties undergo screening through the Lagos State Judiciary’s Bail Information Management System.

  The court also directed that the Nigerian Immigration Service be formally notified to enforce travel restrictions on the defendant pending the determination of the case.

Justice Oshodi subsequently adjourned proceedings until October 12,2026for continuation of trial.

The defendant is standing trial on a two-count charge of stealing and obtaining money by false pretences, filed against her by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The anti-graft agency had arraigned her on June 9, where she pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to the prosecution, the defendant allegedly, in March 2025, fraudulently obtained the sum of N69.15 million from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited. under the pretext of leasing a property located in Lekki, Lagos.

The EFCC said the alleged offences contravene Section 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State and Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, 2006.
