Court releases three OPC members arrested over Wakili
The three members of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), who were detained over alleged role in the arrest of suspected Fulani warlord, Iskilu Wakili, have been released.
The trio, who were arrested, charged to court and subsequently detained, were released yesterday by the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court.
They are Dauda Kazeem, Awodele Adedigba and Ramon Hassan. They were discharged based on the Director of Public Prosecutions’ (DPP) advice. Oyo State Co-ordinator of OPC, Rotimi Oguntade, confirmed their release.
They were initially granted bail on health ground but released without charges by the court. The trio, who arrived the Agodi Correctional Centre at about 1.00 p.m., were later led to the office of the Oyo State Co-ordinator of OPC, Olumo.
