A magistrate court sitting in Makurdi, Benue State capital presided over by Chief Magistrate Theresa Wergba, has remanded another 14 persons over the murder of Senior Special Assistant to Governor Samuel Ortom on Special Security, Denen Igbana.

The accused are charged with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide and illegal possession of fire arms punishable under Section 97,222 of the Penal Code Law of Benue State and Section 3(1) of Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act Cap.R.11 LFN 2004.

According to prosecution, on 20th May, 2016, one Ephraim Tyover reported to the police station “D” Division Makurdi that Igbana was trailed to his house by unknown gunmen who opened gun fire on him and killed him.

The accused persons, Ephraim Ianna, Dooshima Mtsor, Paul Ogbu, John Avine, Aondo Iortim, Washima Hyacinth, Terzungwe Shianondo, Aondofa Henen, Iortswam Aondover, Terna Asema, Ngutswen Igyungu, Anule Desmond, Tersoo Kase and Terdoo Torbee have been arrested in the course of investigation.
