The NSCDC prosecutor, Mr Marcus Audu, told the court that the victim’s mother, Mary Abashe reported the matter at the corps’ office in Kafanchan on July 18.

Audu said the suspect who visited the complainant at Ungwan Rimi, dragged the little girl into the kitchen and defiled her. He said that the suspect was caught in the act by a neighbour.
The presiding judge, Samson Kwasu, did not take the suspect’s plea for lack of jurisdiction to hear the matter.
Kwasu directed the prosecutor to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.
He adjourned the matter until Aug. 6 for further mention.
