Self-acclaimed prophet, Segun Philip, Owolabi Adeeko and his mother, Bola Adeeko, have been ordered to be remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre by an Osun State Magistrates Court sitting in Apomu for the alleged murder of Favour Oladele. Appearing before Magistrate Olukunle Idowu-Faith, the defendants’ plea to the two-count charge of murder could not be taken due to the nature of the offence.

According to the charge sheet read in court, the trio were said to have conspired with one Wole Adeeko, now at large, to commit murder. The charge sheet also stated that the defendants lured Favour, a final year student of Lagos State University (LASU) from Mowe in Ogun State to a Cherubim and Seraphim Church at Ikoyi-Ile in Osun State, with intent to kill her and dismembered her body.

It added that the accused used her vital parts, including head, breast and heart for ritual, an offence contrary and punishable under Section 391 of the state criminal law.Duro Adekunle, a Police Inspector, announced appearance for the prosecution, but the accused did not have legal representation.

Magistrate Idowu-Faith, therefore, directed the prosecution to duplicate the case file and send same to the state Ministry of Justice for necessary legal advice. He subsequently adjourned the case until March 25, this year, for mention. He ordered that the suspects be remanded at the Ilesa Correctional Centre.
