The Federal High Court, Abuja yesterday dismissed the suit by the Police Service Commission (PSC) challenging Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu’s power to recruit 10,000 constables.

The Federal High Court, Abuja yesterday dismissed the suit by the Police Service Commission (PSC) challenging Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu’s power to recruit 10,000 constables.

Justice Inyang Ekwo threw out the case for lacking merit. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the commission had sued the IGP and Attorney General of the Federation over the incident.

In the motion on notice filed on September 24, 2019, it had prayed the court for an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants from “appointing, recruiting or attempting to appoint or recruit by any means whatsoever any person into any office by the NPF pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.”
