CROSIEC begins activities for C’River council polls
Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) has commenced activities towards the conduct of council elections.
The Chairman of CROSIEC, Prof. Mike Ushie, made the announcement yesterday in Calabar while chatting with newsmen. Ushie said: “In compliance with the provision of Section 28(1) of the 2022 Electoral Act, (as amended), which allow for 360 days for the issuance of notice for the commencement conduct and conclusion of electoral activities for the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC), hereby, today, Monday May 30, issue notice of election for the 2023 local government elections in the state.
“All electoral activities commences today and will culminate on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 being the date for the local government council elections in the state.”
He said the council election would be an improvement on last election, adding: “We did a good and commendable job and we will still do our best in the forthcoming local government elections.”
