Cross River IPAC suspends chairman indefinitely
The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Cross River State, has suspended its chairman, Mr. Edet Effiom, with immediate effect.
The decision to suspend the chairman indefinitely follows a vote of no confidence passed on him on Monday during an emergency meeting of the council in Calabar.
He was also accused of running the affairs of the council as a sole administrator contrary to the IPAC Code of Conduct.
After the suspension of the chairman, members of the council unanimously endorsed the Deputy Chairman, Rev. Omaleko Efut of APGA, to take charge in an acting capacity with immediate effect.
The council equally resolved to reposition IPAC to play its usual critical advisory role to the government, especially at this time when the country and its sub-nationals are at a crossroads.
