Cross River State government has expressed readiness to partner Zenith Bank Plc to boost agriculture in the state. The deal was struck during a visit by bank’s management led by its Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ebenezer Onyeagwu to the various agricultural-processing factories at the Ayade Industrial Park in Calabar.

Speaking to newsmen after a tour of the factories, Onyeagwu said Governor Ben Ayade deserves commendation for his foresight, initiative and determination to create an economy for the state through agriculture and industrialisation.

Beyond partnering with the state to deepen government’s agricultural value chain, he said that the bank was willing to also provide advisory support services to the state government.

Responding, Ayade disclosed that he had signed a deal with John Del of USA through Tata to supply the state equipment for land clearing and soil preparation in furtherance of its agro-industrialisation drive.
