The Civil Society Alliance for Transparency and Development (CSATD) has commended Engineer Jennifer Adighije, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), for her “outstanding leadership and extraordinary impact” since assuming office in August 2024.
In a statement, the civil society group highlighted Adighije’s role in restoring two turbine units at the Ihovbor Power Plant, a milestone that added 230 megawatts to Nigeria’s national grid within her first year in office. CSATD said the achievement reflects her focus on asset optimisation, operational efficiency, and stakeholder collaboration, which are crucial to improving electricity access nationwide.
“Engineer Adighije’s leadership exemplifies the transformative potential of professional integrity, innovation, and transparent governance. She stands as a model for public utility leadership aspiring to deliver tangible national development,” said CSATD National Coordinator, Basah Mohammed.
The group also noted Adighije’s international recognition for her work in the energy sector. In 2025, she was named among the Top 100 Influential Global Voices at the Leaders Without Borders Summit in London. She also received a Professional Doctorate in Leadership and Management from the City University of Paris and was inducted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership, USA.
CSATD urged the Federal Government to sustain support for NDPHC reforms through adequate funding, consistent policies, and robust regulatory backing. The group also encouraged stakeholders in the power sector—including the Ministry of Power, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), and fiscal oversight agencies—to adopt Adighije’s leadership approach as a benchmark for sectoral reforms.
Through her initiatives, the NDPHC chief executive has positioned the organisation as a driving force in improving Nigeria’s power infrastructure while setting a standard for transparent and accountable governance in public utilities.
