There was apprehension yesterday in the Edo State owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, following renewed cult violence, which led to the killing of two students of the University.

It was gathered that the violence erupted between rival cult groups in the institution, which degenerated into killings last Friday.

A source told The Guardian that a Students’ Union Government official said to be a 400- Level student in the Faculty of Agriculture was killed in the violence.

He was said to have been killed at the poultry road extension in Ekpoma.

Investigation revealed that the killings occurred barely 48 hours after one Eddy was reportedly beaten and left to die by a group of persons for allegedly purchasing items with “fake bank alert.”

When contacted, spokesperson for Edo State Police Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the killings, said investigation is ongoing in the matter, while some suspects have been arrested.
