Customs seeks more collaboration with NUJ in Kebbi
The Controller, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kebbi State command, Joseph Attah, has sought more collaboration with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kebbi Council, for effective dissemination of the command’s activities.
Speaking when the new executives of Kebbi NUJ visited him at the command’s headquarters, Birnin Kebbi, yesterday, he added that the synergy between journalists and the command would promote their activities.
Attah noted that since he assumed office, the command has generated over N1 billion in the state. He applauded the media’s support through efficient reporting, noting his closeness to the media. “I was a Public Relations Officer (PRO) from the headquarters in Abuja before I became the head of Kebbi command. Journalists are my close friends. They are our pillar,” he added.
He appealed to NUJ members, traditional rulers and religious leaders to support the command with vital information, especially on illegal smuggling in the border areas.
The Kebbi NUJ Chairman, Amza Galadima, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Muhammad Yeldu, assured the command of professional support towards promoting the activities of the command.
