The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) and Office of the Auditor General of the Federation (AGF) have revealed that national planning in Nigeria is being undermined by poor data disclosure among agencies of government.

NEITI, which pledged to work closely with other government agencies to promote integrity in data collation, validation and management on revenues from extractive industries, expressed concerns over poor linkages among sectors in data generation, collation, management and dissemination on revenues generated and spent from oil, gas and mining.

Executive Secretary of NEITI, Waziri Adio, stated this in Abuja, while receiving the AGF, Anthony Ayine in his office, identified poor linkages among relevant agencies as major constraints to coherent national planning.

Adio said the development was also affecting the natural resource governance and public finance management in the country.
