Delta PDP suspends Nwaoboshi for alleged anti-party activities

State Working Committee (SWC) of the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday, suspended representative of Delta North Senatorial District, Peter Nwaoboshi for one month over alleged anti-party activities.
A statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Ifeanyi Osuoza in Asaba, revealed that the suspension becomes necessary following Nwaoboshi’s alleged recent romance with an opposition party and verbal attacks on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
It added that the SWC viewed his action as unacceptable, disturbing and unbecoming of a politician and party member of his status.
“Although the suspension is obligatory, it has become imperative and inevitable, especially given the dramatic spontaneity and overzealousness of Nwaoboshi’s verbal attacks, which are out of character and might have been induced by circumstances that defy immediate rational analysis and comprehension,” the statement added.
Osuoza, however, explained that the matter had been referred to the State Disciplinary Committee to give Nwaoboshi a fair hearing and the opportunity to defend himself over his recent utterances and actions against the party and its leadership.
