Breeze 99.9 FM, a private radio station that was demolished by former governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura has been reopened in Lafia, the state capital.

The re-opening is sequel to the High Court judgment, which described the action of the former governor as illegal and malicious.

Addressing journalists in Lafia at the weekend, Chief Executive Officer of the station, Mr. Nawani Aboki described the development is a triumph of light over darkness.

“We thank God and all who stood with us during our persecution moments. We want to assure our friends and listeners that we have reopened and will create better platform to carry everyone along,” Aboki assured.

It could be recalled that Almakura demolished Breeze 99.9FM in April 2017, claiming that the location of the station lacked approval. However, the state High Court in June 2019 delivered a judgment and awarded N68m in favour of the station.
