Digitisation is creating opportunities for short-let services, says entrepreneur

Rising cost of hotel rentals and growth of digitisation is creating huge opportunity for short-let homes to thrive in the country, entrepreneur, Keji Giwa has said.

Speaking further, he said more people are expected to seek trips away from home, having spent the large part of last year working remotely due to COVID-19.

Giwa, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Digital Landlords, stressed that while hotels have taken a beating in bookings as a result of the pandemic and global lockdown, short let homes and apartments bookings have soared.

Specifically, he said more growth would be recorded in industrial segment, hospitality and tourism sector as experts have observed that increase in short-let homes adoption was in close relation to growth in the tourism industry. He noted that travelers have widely adopted short-term rentals, such as Airbnbs and other booking channels.
