In line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative towards enhancing human capacity development, a leading marine and waterway solutions provider in Nigeria, Dredging International Services Nigeria (DISN) Limited yesterday donated survey equipment worth millions of naira to the Department of Survey and Geo-informatics, at the University of Lagos.

Receiving the equipment on behalf of the faculty, the Dean of Engineering, Prof. Funsho Falade, said the support of corporate organizations such as DISN was necessary to complement government’s efforts in the education sector.

He said: “The donation is of great value to the school and government cannot do it alone, hence it needs the assistance of corporate organizations and wealthy individuals. We appreciate the company for their kind gesture with a promise that the equipment will be put into quality use.

He added that the university is also working on plans to put in place industry involvement and engagement that will further assist the school’s curriculum.

DISN is a leading marine and waterway solutions provider in Nigeria since 1991 and has been involved in infrastructural developments and projects for the oil and gas sector, federal and states government.

Although DISN’s activities originated with dredging and land reclamation services, it has broadened its portfolio substantially over the years in response to the demanding needs of the environment and the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
