Doguwa raises alarm over renewed insecurity at Falgore Forest
Worried by the resurgence of security threat at the notorious Falgore forest, leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa has called for aggressive security cover to rescue his constituency.
Falgore Forest, another den of banditry, Cattle rustlers, Kidnappers and other nefarious activities of men of the underworld is surrounding mainly Fulani communities of Doguwa and Tudunwada Federal constituency of Kano State.
Although, the state government had converted the forest bank to the military training ground with the recent inauguration of the multi-million facility, a strategic move to nip the incessant invasion of criminal attack in the bound; the renewed terror on the rural communities calls for worry, Doguwa lamented.
The leader of the house raised the concern when he paid courtesy visits to Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Habu Sani and Bridge Commander, 3 Bridge, Bukavo Barracks, Kano, Brigadier General, Bamidele Alabi.
On the separate visit, Doguwa told the heads of security apparatus on the upsurge of kidnapping, armed robbery and banditry among criminalities ravaging his constituency on a daily basis while seeking urgent intervention.
Doguwa insisted that the Falgore forest is now becoming an unsafe place for residents lamenting the occurrences “in my own constituency is not something that is not only worrisome, but it is also becoming very practically threatening”.
According to him, ” the ugly trend is now instilling fears to Farmers who could no longer go to farm. Sometimes you cannot even sleep in your home with two eyes closed. We want your full presence in the areas and I can assure you that we will fully support you to discharge your duties.”
The leader reminded the legislative plan to pass the Nigerian Armed Forces Trust Fund which is an invention of this 9th House of Representatives, to further fortify the security agencies to discharge their statutory mandate.
“As leader of the House of Representatives, I will pick it up and we must make sure that we provide enough and sufficient resources for our security agencies to be able to deliver on their constitutional mandate and responsibility. I feel there is no amount of resources that can be too much for security and we will definitely provide that support.
“We have also come up with a lot of legislations that will provide operational protection for the security agencies. We are coming up with the Nigerian Armed Forces Trust Fund which is an invention of this 9th House of Representatives.” Doguwa added.
In a separate response, the Police Commissioner and Bridge Commander expressed delight at his visit and assured Doguwa readiness to flourish out the criminal remanence in the area.
