Don Maseratte Boutique owner denies involvement in viral assault case, vows justice

The owner of Don Maseratte Classic Boutique, Chidiebere Onu, has addressed allegations surrounding a viral video purportedly showing the assault of a female staff member.

The incident, which reportedly occurred at the boutique located at Ultimate Plaza, Broad Street, opposite Tantalizers, Lagos Island, has sparked widespread outrage on social media.

In a statement released to the press on Monday, Onu expressed deep distress over the incident, stressing that he was unaware of the event as he was away in the East attending a cultural festival at the time.

“I want to categorically state that I was not present during the incident and was unaware of it until it was brought to my attention. At the time, I was participating in an annual festival in the East,” Onu said.

He also refuted claims that the victim was stripped, describing such allegations as false and misleading.

“While the incident is deeply regrettable, the assertion that the lady was stripped of her clothes is entirely untrue. This accusation misrepresents the facts,” he added.

Onu condemned the alleged assault, calling it a gross violation of human rights and a deviation from the values of his organisation.

“I am deeply saddened and outraged by this incident. Such actions are against the constitution and the fundamental rights of every individual. Our organization does not condone violence or mistreatment in any form,” he stated.

The boutique owner assured the public that those involved in the act would face justice, pledging full cooperation with law enforcement authorities.

“I assure everyone that the individuals responsible for this act will be identified and held accountable. We are working closely with the authorities to ensure justice is served,” Onu declared.

Don Maseratte Classic Boutique, known for its long-standing reputation in Lagos, has reiterated its commitment to ethical practices and respect for human dignity. Onu urged the public to avoid spreading unverified claims and allow the ongoing investigation to take its course.

“We value the trust of our customers and the public. While we appreciate the concerns raised, it is important to avoid circulating misinformation that could harm innocent individuals or the organization. Updates will be shared as the investigation progresses,” Onu added.
