Mothers were treated to a special celebration during the weekend by students of Caleb International School, Surulere Campus, as notable individuals converged on the school premises to mark Mothers’ Day.

Among those in attendance were Erelu Abiola Dosunmu and popular saxophonist, Beejay Sax.

The event attracted mothers, grandmothers and their children to the school premises, which was adorned with decorations that reflected honour for mothers.

It began with a special prayer by a parent, followed by a welcome address by the school’s headteacher, Mrs Ezinwa Okeke.

Okeke spoke on the importance of mothers in the lives of their children and how they have been the backbone of every family.

The Guest Minister, Pastor Belema Harry Tonye, reminded mothers that a blessed woman is one who fears God. She wrapped it up with prayers as she committed mothers and their children to God. Prayers were also raised for the school and its management.

The children took to the stage to demonstrate their appreciation for mothers through a variety of musical and dance presentations that also highlighted the qualities of mothers.

One of the mothers, Mrs Adeola Ishola-Lemomu, said: “We are very happy to be here today. Our children have shown us so much love and appreciation and we are grateful to the school for giving us the opportunity to celebrate together.”

Another parent, Mrs Moyo Olalekan, thanked the school for impacting on the children’s good moral habits, especially respect and honour for their parents.

Mrs Abiola Omololu hailed the Director, Dr Ola Adebogun and the school’s management for always putting the children’s needs first and celebrating the parents.
