DPR laments flouting of regulations in downstream sector

Non-substantial compliance to downstream sector regulatory policies by stakeholders has been blamed for the numerous challenges faced by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).

The Acting Director of DPR, Mr. Ahmad Shakur, stated this yesterday during the Annual General Meeting of Owerri zone of the agency, in Owerri, Imo State.

Represented by the Head of Downstream, Monitoring and Regulation, Mr. Alaku Musa, the director said the lapses were constituting major set-back to the smooth operations of the DPR, urging those flouting the regulations to repent.

According to Shakur, DPR has embraced emerging trends by initiating and implementing several projects.
