Drug courier jailed six years in Lagos
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos yesterday sentenced a hard drugs trafficker, Amobi Okoye, sentenced six years.
Amobi, a resident of Iba Estate in Lagos, was handed the sentence by Justice Jude Dagat, after he was found guilty of unlawful export of 1.030kg of cocaine, a charge brought against him by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The convict was arrested in 2014 at the departure hall of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, during outward clearance of Alitalia airline flight to Italy.
The drug was reportedly discovered in his stomach at the screening Point Two of the airport.
