The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has called for peace, unity and active civic participation among residents of Kogi State, urging them to take advantage of the upcoming Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) revalidation exercise.

In an Easter message at the weekend, the lawmaker described the season as one of sacrifice, renewal and hope, stressing the need for citizens to embrace its core values by promoting harmony and mutual understanding across communities.

She said Easter symbolises the triumph of light over darkness, hope over despair, and love over hate, adding that the period offers an opportunity for reflection, reconciliation and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence.

Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasised that unity remains critical to the development of Kogi Central and the state at large, noting that meaningful progress can only be achieved in a peaceful environment.

She urged residents to live in harmony irrespective of ethnic, religious or political differences, stating that the strength of the people lies in their collective resolve to build a more secure and prosperous society.

The senator also called on eligible voters to participate in the PVC revalidation exercise, describing it as a crucial step in strengthening democratic governance.

“I urge all residents of Kogi Central, and indeed Kogi State, to continue to live in harmony, regardless of ethnic, religious, or political differences. Our strength lies in our unity, and together we can build a more prosperous and secure society,” she added

According to her, voter participation remains a powerful tool for shaping the future, encouraging citizens to either update their details online or visit designated centres for the exercise.

She added that active engagement in the electoral process would ensure that the voices of the people are reflected in leadership and governance.

Akpoti-Uduaghan wished Christians a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration, praying that the season brings renewed hope, blessings and progress to homes across the state.
