The Ebonyi State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Ifeanyi Odii, yesterday, said he would industrialise the state and make it the economic base of the nation if voted into office.

Odii stated this in Abakaliki, the state capital, during the unveiling of his campaign secretariat ahead of the 2023 general elections, noting that he joined the race to develop the state economically.

Odii used the opportunity to urge the electorate in the state to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended to 60 days, describing the voter card as a power and right of every citizen to vote for his or her preferred candidates in the 2023 polls.

While presenting his running mate, Paulinus Nwagu, Odii told party supporters that the election would be a win-win issue for PDP and urged members to be united.

His words: “I thank the three-man delegates for choosing me during the primary. I urge all aggrieved members of our party to embrace peace to win at all levels in the general elections.”

“Politics in disunity will destroy our winning strategies during the election, but we shall overcome them. Let’s come together in solidarity and with the common purpose of creating wealth for the people, which I have been doing. We can transform Ebonyi together and we can do it in 2023.”

“I am committed to diversifying the state’s economy and upscale the human empowerment indices for the people if elected as governor. So, I am urging the electorate to get their PVCs, go out and cast your votes on election day, and I believe your vote would count.”
