Educational institutions must help find solutions to societal constraints, says ex-LASU VC
Immediate past Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun has said the challenges facing educational institutions are enormous and systemic, noting that they must step out of their confines to be part of the solutions to the constraints that had held back the country.
Fagbohun, spoke while delivering a lecture titled, “Leadership and Management of Educational Institutions: The Issues, Challenges and Solutions,” at the first Distinguished Personality Lecture Series, (DPLS) organised by Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), Magodo, Lagos.
The former VC, however, said there are several creative ways to tackle these challenges, one of which, he said, education institutions must step out of their confines and position themselves to be part of the solutions to the constraints that had held back the country’s progress.
“Institutions must leave their comfort zones and build their capacity to become a valued partner in a knowledge-based global economy.”
