As Muslim faithful in Zone 9 (Imo, Abia, and Ebonyi states) prepare to celebrate Eid-Maulud, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of the zone, Kanayo Uzuegbu, has assured residents of watertight security throughout the festivities.
This assurance was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Iheanetu Bruno Chukwudera.
According to the statement, the AIG felicitated with the Muslim community, urging them to celebrate peacefully while upholding the values of unity and love.
He disclosed that Commissioners of Police in the three states have been directed, through a comprehensive operational order, to deploy robust security measures across all strategic locations.
“AIG Uzuegbu urged all Muslim faithful to let the season inspire peace, unity, and love — values essential to national prosperity and the safety of lives and property,” the statement read.
The AIG further reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property while fostering harmony and shared progress.
He prayed that the blessings of Eid-Maulud would continue to guide the nation toward peace, security, and unity.
Similarly, the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, extended his felicitations to the Muslim community, assuring them of adequate security and urging residents to promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or call 08034773600.
