NDPHC appoints new executive directors

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, has commended the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) for deploying Nigeria’s Local Content Policy to drive education, digital inclusion and community development with the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre in Akwa Ibom State.

Speaking at the inauguration of the facility at Ika Comprehensive High School, Ikot Akpan Anwa, Ekpo said the project demonstrates that local content extends beyond the oil and gas industry to deliver lasting socio-economic benefits for host communities.

He described the ICT Centre as a strategic investment that would strengthen human capital development, expand digital literacy and create opportunities for research and online learning through modern educational platforms.

“This ICT Centre is far more than a building equipped with computers; it is an investment in the future of our children and a gateway to knowledge, innovation, creativity and opportunity. Nations that invest in the digital education of their young people today are the ones that will lead the world tomorrow,” he said.

Ekpo said the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by expanding access to quality education, empowering young people, accelerating digital transformation and promoting inclusive economic growth through the acquisition of technology-driven skills.

MEANWHILE, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Jennifer Adighije, has said the appointment of two new executive directors will strengthen the company’s leadership and accelerate the implementation of its strategic objectives as it pushes to improve electricity infrastructure across the country.

She said the appointments were part of NDPHC’s efforts to reinforce corporate governance, improve operational efficiency and deliver on its mandate of expanding electricity generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure in Nigeria.

Adighije added that the appointments also underscore the Federal Government’s commitment to repositioning the company for enhanced performance and advancing reforms aimed at improving electricity supply nationwide.
