Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has called for a single regulator for the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).

Speaking at the National Council on Communication meeting yesterday in Kaduna, the governor noted that the existing National policies for telecommunication and broadcasting are overdue for harmonisation for digital convergence.

El-Rufai who stressed the need for clarity in institutional and regulatory framework for telecom and the broadcast sectors observed that Information Technology has proven itself to be not just an enabler but also something that should generate huge revenue for the country and create job opportunities for the youths.
