Elehinle joins Owo/Ose federal constituency race, picks APC forms

A former Commissioner on the board of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Nuel Ola Elehinle, has declared his intention to contest the Owo/Ose federal constituency seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

Elehinle, an indigene of Ipele in Owo Local Council Area of the state, disclosed his ambition after obtaining his nomination expression of interest and nomination forms at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Following his clearance from the party’s leadership, the aspirant, who spoke with newsmen, reeled out his vision and motivation for seeking the mandate of his constituents ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

According to him, he is bringing into the contest a blend of public service experience, private sector expertise, and grassroots political engagement spanning over a decade.

He stated that “I have decided to contest this election purely out of a deep sense of service to the people of the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency. It is time to bring quality representation that addresses the real needs of our communities.

“I’m a registered member of the APC in Ipele Ward 7 with a long history of active participation in the party’s electoral campaigns.

“I worked extensively for the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu during the 2012, 2016, and 2020 gubernatorial elections and later Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo State.”

Elehinle further emphasised that his priority areas would include legislative interventions in infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and equitable distribution of democratic dividends across the constituency’s wards.”

Before venturing into public service and politics, Elehinle was said to have built a professional career in the industrial and mining equipment sector, working at Atlas Copco Nigeria and later at Epiroc Rock Drills AB, based in Sweden.

The aspirant holds a degree in mining engineering and mineral resources engineering from the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, and furthered his education with a Master of Science in operations and supply chain management from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.
