
Following the official announcement of his appointment as the substantive Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has disclosed plans to enhance existing initiatives and introduce new policies aimed at tackling the pervasive issue of youth unemployment.
Olawande, who made this pledge over the weekend in his Abuja office upon resumption, said his primary goal is to diligently improve and expand services to benefit the nation’s youth.
Expressing his commitment to serving the nation’s youth with greater dedication, he urged Nigerian youths to prioritise abiding by the law and refrain from engaging in detrimental activities.
He also called for their active participation in addressing the various challenges faced by young people in the country.
The minister said the importance of aligning efforts with the President’s agenda to build a more conducive environment and ensure prosperity for all.
He assured the youth that comprehensive policies will be implemented to address their needs and added that innovative strategies will be developed to create substantial job opportunities, thereby empowering the youth for sustainable socio-economic development.
The decision was officially announced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
