The Vice Chancellor of Lead City University (LCU), Ibadan, Prof. Kabiru Aderemi Adeyemo, yesterday, urged graduates in the country to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship and adaptability to enable them to navigate the complexities of the world and succeed.

Adeyemo gave the charge during the second day of the 16th convocation ceremonies of the university at the Adeline Hall of the institution. The VC said: “I implore you to carry the values instilled in you by Lead City University – integrity, excellence, and a commitment to community – into every endeavour. Your education is not just for personal gain but should also be a force for positive change in the world around you.”

According to the VC, the convocation lecture today will be delivered by Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, with the title: “The Renewed Hope Agenda and the Imperative of Repositioning of Nigerian Universities.”

He added: “We shall confer honorary doctorate degrees on three eminently qualified Nigerians for the roles they have played in nation-building. They are Oba (Dr.) Moshood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, former Deputy Governor of Osun State and former Minister of State for Defence, Erelu Olusola Idowu Obada and Consultant on World Bank-assisted Agro-Climatic Resilience, Sir Obafemi Oye.”In his remarks, the Chancellor of the university, Prof. Gabriel Ogunmola, urged all stakeholders to come together to rescue the country.
