Emergency responders recover two bodies at Lagos building collapse

Emergency responders have recovered two dead bodies from the rubbles of a building that collapsed in the early hours of Sunday in Lekki, Lagos State.

Two male bodies have been recovered from under the rubble of the collapsed building at Oba Idowu Oniru street beside Avi Maria hospital, Lagos.

Search and rescue are still ongoing.

The incident happened at an uncompleted seven-storey building undergoing construction. Six persons are reported to be trapped under the rubbles of the collapsed structure. The Agency’s heavy-duty equipment excavator will be required for the rescue of the trapped victims.

Emergency responders including the Nigeria Police, National Emergency Management Authority ((NEMA), and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) are still at the scene.
