Concerned about the need to assist pregnant women with useful information, a varsity lecturer Dr. Ehigha Enabudoso, yesterday launched a book, “Simple Tips on Enjoying Pregnancy and Delivery,” in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

Enabudoso said the book covers a “large range of questions that bother the minds of people, including preventing infertility, preparing for pregnancy, physical exercises, nutrition in pregnancy and care of the baby after delivery.”

Speaking at the presentation, foremost Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Linus Ajabor canvassed the need for practicing midwives, general medical practitioners and obstetricians and gynecologists, to encourage expectant mothers to develop reading culture.

He urged the professionals to inspire pregnant women while booking clinic appointments with them, on the need to deepen their knowledge, especially as it relates to reading books on women’s reproductive health.

The launch attracted the crème de la cream of the society and members of staff of both, the University of Benin and their counterparts at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).

The book reviewer, who is also the state’s Special Adviser on Special Duties and Emergencies, Hajia Maimuna Momodu, said the book would be useful in improving and reducing infant mortality.
