Personnel of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) fired tear gas at protesters gathered at Nyanya, Maraba of Abuja-Nasarawa border, dispersing a crowd demonstrating against bad governance in Nigeria.

The protesters, who were peacefully assembled, were demanding improved living conditions, better governance, and an end to corruption.

However, the police responded with force, releasing tear gas canisters into the crowd.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing protesters running for safety, with some suffering from the effects of the tear gas.

He said, “We were just trying to make our voices heard, but the police didn’t allow us.”

The demonstration was part of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria movement, which has gained momentum in recent weeks. Protesters are calling for urgent reforms to address the country’s socio-economic challenges.
