Engineers’ body inaugurates new executives in Lagos tomorrow

The Nigerian Institution of Petroleum Engineers, a division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), will tomorrow, March 19, 2022, hold the investiture of its national executives in Lagos.

Prisca Kanebi is to be inaugurated as fifth national chairman alongside the first fellowship conferment of the body.

Besides, the event will witness the official launch of the institution’s magazine, christened “Journal of Petroleum and Energy Studies.”

The publication, a specialised research journal and newsletter, is solely for petroleum engineering and energy studies.

A paper on “The Future of Petroleum Engineering” will be delivered by the former vice-chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Joseph Ajienka.

The programme is to be chaired by President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Tasiu Sa’ad Gidari-Wudil, while Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is guest of honour with the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, as a special guest of honour. 

Other dignitaries are the President of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Ali Rabiu and MD/CEO of Financial Derivatives Company Limited, Bismarck Rewane, who is the guest speaker.

Royal fathers of the day include the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu and the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo (Telade IV), while the Mother of the Day is Mrs. Audrey Joe-Ezigbo, co-founder and Deputy Managing Director of Falcon Corporation. 

The event is being hosted by Dr. Vitus Ibeh, with Dr. K.B. Orodu and Emmanuel Aforka as chairman and secretary of the investiture committee respectively.
