Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has called on entrepreneurs and investors to engage more in construction materials to check capital flight and improve the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).

Its president, Tasiu Sa’ad Gidari-Wudil, yesterday, at the 2022 Megaclima West Africa Expo in Lagos, noted that the country needs an economy where building and construction materials would be sustainable.

He said: “This exhibition is an international gathering and most of the products are not local. They are products manufactured in different countries, especially Turkey, India and only few are locally manufactured.”

President, Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Ali Rabiu, said 99 per cent of manufacturing companies do not have factories in Nigeria.
