Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf said the economy and future prosperity of a nation depends on the ability of entrepreneurs and innovators to translate ideas into great enterprise.

Akinbile-Yussuf made the remark yesterday at the celebration of the 2018 Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) with the theme, GEW Inclusion: Minimising barriers by maximising inclusion. She said entrepreneurship is a positive force to create wealth and improve lives in communities, cities and countries.

She said: “The successful entrepreneurs today are the same people who had curiosity to solve a problem. These are the kind of people who eventually took on the challenge of building and growing the economy.

She said race, age, gender or residency should not be an obstacle to entrepreneurship, as anyone, anywhere should be able to realise their dream and start a business quickly, inexpensively and without barrier.
