In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Information, Steve Oruruo, it expressed disappointment that the product was being sold as genuine product to residents.

It lamented that the development had inflicted devastating fatality and caused gory sights of bodily injuries and destruction of property of Enugu people.

“The state government is concerned about the situation and to that effect has directed the Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and other related government agencies to swing into action immediately, investigate and arrest all those involved directly or remotely in the distribution or sale of the perilous product,” the statement reads.

He disclosed that the state government commiserated with victims of the dastardly act and their loved ones and advised members of the public to be careful of where they buy kerosene and other products.
