The Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti (FETHI), Dr. Olagoke Erinomo, has assumed duties as the acting Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the facility following the completion of two terms by the immediate past CMD, Prof. Adekunle Ajayi, on December 31, 2025.

A statement from the hospital, released on Friday, confirmed that Erinomo officially took over on January 1, 2026, and pledged continued delivery of quality healthcare services.

In his New Year message, the acting CMD encouraged staff to embrace the year with resilience and renewed hope.

He said, “We thank God for bringing us this far, as we trust Him to make the year a good one for every member of staff and our beloved Hospital. On behalf of the Board and Management of the Hospital, I thank you for your trust, dedication, and sacrifice which has built our reputation as a healthcare family that truly cares.”

Prof. Ajayi, while handing over to Erinomo on December 31, 2025, commended the staff for their support during his tenure.

He stated, “Today marks the official transition of leadership of this hospital to you as the acting CMD. It has been a fulfilling and rewarding eight years of service, and I am profoundly grateful to everyone for their steadfast support, which has been instrumental in the successful completion of my tenure.

“I extend my best wishes for your success as you embark on a new chapter in the hospital’s leadership. May you achieve great success and be celebrated. I wish you all a Happy New Year.”

In response, Erinomo congratulated Ajayi for his accomplishments, noting, “Your tenure was marked by numerous breakthroughs, accomplishments, and exemplary performance. I appreciate your leadership and wish you well in your future endeavours.”

The Federal Government is expected to announce the substantive CMD of FETHI in due course.
