Ex-militants vow to resist protests against NDDC, PAP
Former militant leaders have vowed to resist further protests against Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Professor Nelson Brambaifa and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Professor Charles Dokubo.
The ex-militant leaders who convened at Yenagoa, Bayelsa State yesterday, also condemned calls for Dokubo’s sack.
Spokesman of the group, Kalaiti Jephthah, said as ex-militants and beneficiaries of the amnesty programme, Dokubo has brought his experience to bear on the running of the amnesty office.
“Also, Brambaifa’s appointment, as Acting MD of NDDC is a welcome development and well deserved.
“He he has done his bit in the Niger Delta as a revered personality in the struggle and he has demonstrated his readiness to serve and we can attest to the visible renaissance after a long stalemate,” he said.
