As part of activities commemorating World Hearing Day, the Department of Ear Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Surgery (ENT), University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Edo State, at the weekend, tasked members of the public on proper care for the ears.

Speaking with newsmen in Benin during a courtesy call on the Chief Medical Director of UBTH, Prof. Darlington Obaseki, the Head of Department ENT, Dr. Amina Okhakhu thanked the CMD for providing the enabling environment for the department in terms of materials and equipment to work with.

She said the unalloyed support had greatly improved the quality of care for ENT patients. Okhakhu noted that noise pollution harms the ears and explained how to care for the ears.

Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Kingsley Akhigbe, commended the ENT department for creating time to educate the public on caring for the ears, nose and throat.

Chairman, Local Organising Committee, Dr. Eustace Oseghale, said the department was committed to ensuring a better healthcare delivery and wellness for all by way of giving back to the society.
