Former Minister of Education and founder of Fix Politics Nigeria, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, has endorsed Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya in the race for the presidency of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
In a post on her verified X account, Ezekwesili described Badejo-Okusanya as a legal practitioner whose experience and commitment to professional ethics make her well-suited for the leadership of the association.
“I am delighted to see that the brilliant and amazing Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, is running for NBA President,” Ezekwesili wrote.
She said Badejo-Okusanya’s work in professional ethics, arbitration, governance and improving the welfare of young lawyers reflects the priorities the legal profession requires at this time.
“Her engagements frequently focus on professional ethics, arbitration, governance, and improving conditions for young lawyers. These are the ideals the Bar needs at this moment, and she rightly represents them,” Ezekwesili added.

Badejo-Okusanya was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002 after earning a law degree from the University of Lagos. She previously served as General Counsel to the Governor of Lagos State, where she contributed to the development of the Lagos State Home Ownership Mortgage Scheme (Lagos HOMS).
She returned to private legal practice in 2015 and was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in September 2025.
If elected, Badejo-Okusanya would become the first woman to serve as President of the Nigerian Bar Association.
Her campaign has centred on strengthening professional ethics, improving the welfare of young lawyers and promoting reforms within the legal profession.
